Q - Why is your museum named after Charles Weigle instead of George Sebring ?
A - It's the original house of Charles Weigle and his wife (first and second). Dr. and Mrs. Weigle lived in the house full-time from 1922 to 1951, and then part-time after 1951. George Sebring and his wife lived in the (former) house next door - the current site of the Sebring Public Library.
Q - Is the museum open year-round ?
A - YES - We stay open for the summer. We maintain our open days and hours year-round.
Q - Is my membership current ?
A - Please call our office at 863.471.2522, and we'll check it out for you.
Q - I'm coming to the spaghetti dinner this month. Can I pay for my membership dues when I pay for my dinner ?
A - YES - You can do that.
Q - When is the spaghetti dinner ?
A - It's on the 3RD Thursday of every month from 4:30 to 6:30 PM, so this coming Thursday May 15TH is our next one.
Q - When is the next bus trip ?
A - We don't currently have any bus trips planned. We will reassess the possibility of future bus trips towards the end of the year or early next year. Our last several bus trips have been poorly attended, and we've lost money on them.
Q - I'm interested in volunteering one day a week. Where can I start ?
A - We definitely need more volunteers in all areas - from our museum to our Archives Office. Come to our Wednesday Morning Social at the museum so that we can get to know you and decide together where you could best serve with your skills.
