Q - Are you all doing another Bob Evans fundraiser soon ?
A - We hope so - maybe in a few months. We don't know yet how much money we made from the first one on Thursday October 30TH. Thank You to everyone who went on that day to enjoy a meal, show the flyer, and make money for us !
Q - What can I do at the Archives ?
A - If you want to do historical research on our local area then our vast collection of books and newspapers may be useful to you. We also have most of the Sebring High School yearbooks since World War II. Our Archives Center is located directly below the Sebring Public Library. We have our own entrance facing Lake Jackson. We are currently staffed and open 5 days a week - Tuesdays to Saturdays - from 10 AM to 1 PM. Come meet our new Archival Clerk - April. She will gladly accept your annual membership dues.
Q - What does membership get me ?
A - You can become a member of our Sebring Historical Society for as little as $50 per year. It gets you a 10% discount on all items in our Gift Shop as well as the cost of all bus trips (which we plan to bring back in the new year). The most important thing it does for you is the fact that you are supporting our mission to inspire and educate the community to actively preserve, protect, and share the rich history of Sebring and Highlands County Florida. We Thank You for your support !
Q - Who are the current Board Of Directors ?
A - They are - Kim Piesik (President), Frank Cartisano (Vice President), Linda Kolarik (Secretary), Rick Calvin (Treasurer), Chris Day, Linda Haase, Elaine Haines, Bobby Lee, Terry Mendel, Denise Serrano, and Robert Shannon.
Q - How many years has your Museum been open ?
A - Next month marks our 5TH anniversary at the Charles F. Weigle House Museum & Gift Shop. We officially opened for visitors with an open house on the Saturday before Christmas in 2020.
