It's our monthly Q & A. Let's get to it:
Q - Do you still serve coffee and donuts on Wednesdays ?
A - YES - Our Wednesday Morning Social is still going strong from 9 to 11. This past week we had over 25 inside our museum for over an hour. We'll be there again this coming Wednesday with hot coffee, fresh donuts, and great conversations. Come spend time with us !
Q - What's the next book for the book club ?
A - Our "Historic Authors & Books Club" is taking a break for the summer. If you have any suggestions for future books or any ideas on how to make the club better then please contact Linda Kolarik, or E-Mail us at info@sebringhistoricalsociety.org.
Q - Who's speaking at the next luncheon ?
A - Our special guest speaker at our Saturday July 25TH 2026 Quarterly Membership Luncheon is award-winning author Mark Barie (www.markbarie.com). He's written 5 intense and exciting war novels. Someone will win a signed copy of one of his books, and you'll be able to purchase his books at the luncheon. He'll talk about George Washington and our Founding Fathers as we continue to celebrate America's 250TH birthday.
Q - When is that fundraiser at Panera ?
A - On Friday July 31ST 2026 from 4 to 8 PM bring in our flyer (or have it electronically on your phone), show it to the cashier when you purchase anything on the menu, and we'll ultimately receive 30% of all net proceeds during those 4 hours. We'll be posting that flyer here on our Facebook page several times before the event so that you'll have it on your phone ready to display. (You can also print it out.) Please note that this offer is only good for the Panera here in Sebring Florida.
Q - I heard you're bringing back the Thursday seminars early. True ?
A - True. Our "Florida Talks" by Florida Humanities series is returning early - this September, October, and November. They will return once a month on Thursday afternoons starting at 4 at the Jack Stroup Civic Center. These were our best-attended events earlier this year, and we're looking forward to another series of wonderful special guest speakers to share Florida history with us.
A - YES - And we want to fill-up a 56-passenger luxury coach bus on that Saturday October 17TH 2026. You can reserve your seats now for that trip. Simply E-Mail us at info@sebringhistoricalsociety.org, call us at 863.471.2522, or visit us in person at our Archives Center below the Sebring Public Library.
BREAKING NEWS - We are planning another bus trip 3 weeks later to the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Seminole Museum down south in Hendry County for their annual American Indigenous Arts Celebration. (This was one of our most popular bus trips of the past several years.)
Be sure to stay tuned to our Facebook page for all of the latest news and information. We post once - every Tuesday to Saturday - usually early in the morning.
