You may recognize this prominent building in downtown Sebring. Its former address was 2 North Lakeview Drive. Its current address (at the same location) is 2100 Lakeview Drive. It's where West Center Avenue meets Lakeview Drive - a block from the Circle and a block from the Pier on Lake Jackson.
It's been there since 1921, and it was likely being built just before or at the same time as Charles Weigle's house was being built a few hundred feet away on the other side of the street. There were probably lots of homes and buildings under construction during the Roaring 1920s along Lakeview and up and down each spoke of Sebring's Circle. Sebring's population would nearly quadruple during the 1920s !
Back in the early-1960s (during the time of this ad) - our favorite Sebring Socialite (and Realtor) - Grayce McCoy - owned the building. She rented rooms out to visitors of our city.
Last Summer the 11-bed / 6-bath multi-family apartment building sold for $705,000. Zillow described it as a "historic charmer" that once "was originally a Masonic Lodge". It's "fully rented" with 4 separate apartments downstairs, and 1 large penthouse suite upstairs.
Location is everything, and we're glad that this historic building has survived 105 years of development around it.
