Get ready for the 17TH edition of our monthly Q & A. Let's roll !

Q - You should change the name of your museum to the Sebring Museum. Nobody knows who Charles Weigle is.

A - We respectfully disagree. We love the current name - "Charles F. Weigle House Museum & Grayce's Gift Shop" (or "Weigle House" for short). Perhaps we need to do a better job educating the public as to who Charles F. Weigle is as well as Grayce (McCoy). And for those who walk in our front door - they usually learn all about Charles and Grayce - as well as George Sebring, Tommy McGuire, and Rex Beach.

Q - Your museum is stagnant. It looks exactly the same as it did last year and the year before.

A - Yes. We agree. We need to do a better job at replacing exhibits with new ones. Even moving things around helps out. When you visit a museum every few months - you should always see something new and different. That is something that we need to work on, but with no museum curator and a limited number of volunteers to make it happen - it makes it difficult. We need fresh eyes and ideas. Q - Is your weekly Wednesday Morning Social still active ?

A - Yes ! We serve hot coffee and fresh donuts and other delicious pastries every Wednesday (year-round) from 9 to 11 AM. This is always open to the public, and it's free. It's a great opportunity to meet our active volunteers (including a few board members) and learn what they do. You can also tour our museum while you're here. Come visit us for 15 minutes, 45 minutes, or 2 hours.

Q - I loved Chris Kahl on Thursday singing those entertaining songs about Florida ! Who do you have scheduled next ?

A - Our next "Florida Talks" by Florida Humanities will be held in less than 3 weeks on Thursday October 01ST 2026 starting at 4 PM. Our special guest speaker will be Floridian Author Craig Pittman. He'll be presenting a program based on one of his books - "Cat Tale: The Wild, Weird Battle To Save The Florida Panther".

Q - When is the next Quarterly Luncheon ?

A - It will be on Saturday October 24TH 2026 from 12 to 2 PM, and it will be potluck again. We'll provide the chicken and beverages, and attendees will provide a covered dish or dessert. We'll share more about it in the weeks to come.

Q - I love #HistoryTuesday. It's my favorite post every week. I learn so much about our local history. I have a couple of ideas for future topics. Can I message you with them ?

A - Absolutely ! Some of our greatest #HistoryTuesday topics were inspired by our followers and members.
